Treat Yourself

Don’t let injuries or special conditions prevent you from exercising. Pilates teaches balance and control of the body, and that capacity spills over into other areas of one's life. Practiced faithfully, Pilates yields numerous benefits:

  • Increased lung capacity and circulation through deep, healthy breathing
  • Strength and flexibility, particularly of the abdomen and back muscles
  • Muscular and mental coordination
  • Better posture, balance, and core strength
  • Improved bone density and joint health
  • Positive body awareness

FAQ

What should I expect for my first session?

After an initial medical intake, fitness and postural assessment, we will do specifically selected pilates exercises on pilates apparati.

What should I wear/bring?

Wear clothes that you can move and stretch in easily. You should feel comfortable! Loose clothing is OK, but if it is too baggy, I won't be able to view your alignment properly. You may find yourself in inverted positions, so try to avoid clothing that gapes open! A water bottle is always a good idea. You'll want to stay hydrated throughout the session.

How can I pay?

You can pay with check (payable to "Marita Sobel"), cash, or credit card (via Square Cash) upon arrival.

Is parking free?

Yes, there is free street parking.

How late is too late to cancel?

Students must give at least 24 hours notice of any cancellation.
