These bitches just ain’t feeling me
As a multitasking modern mommy, it is time to organize those “friends”. Some are co-workers, frenemies, real friends, or acquaintances. Some you’ve kept around so long you haven’t noticed that you are no longer a good fit. Some gal pals are like a seasonal purchase. Others are like my go-to denim mini that I can wear in every season. Denim mini is comfy and makes me look good. Denim mini is always there for me, year after year. Keep it / sell it piles. I like the donate pile. You could dump a poor fit friend on another poor fit friend. The two of them can talk smack about you as they grow closer together. The whole time relieving you of having to care about either one of them. More energy for you. I like those friends that have been in the back of my closet that I rediscover. Why did I ever stop wearing this? Some poor fit friendships end sadly. Like my excellent designer top that now hangs in my closet unused because it’s only appropriate for bar-hopping and clubbing. Old designer top I paid too much for has been retired. Or that expensive top that you have to Mac Gyver with safety pins into looking right. It’s never gonna be right. It’s never gonna work.
Then there’s the new mommy friend who gets you in a “Beaches” way. She’s like the all purpose, new designer jeans that fit you.
So mama, spend time with the friends that make you feel good about yourself.
We are mamas now. Like my pageant coach friend, G, would say, “These bitches just ain’t feeling me.” It’s time to throw them in a bag and leave them at Goodwill.
